Having enjoyed many years in a different, yet not dissimilar artistic medium, my stance as a “writing” artist is the same as it was when I was a jewelry artist. Undoubtedly, it’s always great to have the shimmering final product in your hands, but it’s the “getting there” that’s the real fun - the deep satisfaction of the creative process - that is where the joy lies. For me, this is bliss and will always be my center of focus.

Joann was born in a hot air balloon (not really, but wouldn’t that be cool?) Rather, she was born and raised in Montana. A writer from an early age, she didn’t get serious about it until much later in life, despite having received lots of encouragement from concerned adults along the way. She also didn’t become a teacher the way she’d planned. Instead, she became a jewelry designer and goldsmith where she got to play on a daily basis with gorgeous sparkly things like diamonds and sapphires and such.
